Words from Ian McKellen
Another light-hearted romp for May Week was directed by Corin Redgrave with panache. I was a fat monk with a song. It made up a little for never being invited to try my hand with Footlights, the cabaret/revue/stand-up club where Peter Cook vied with David Frost and Eleanor Bron. At the ADC I was encouraged to be funny. I was okay at being broad. — Ian McKellen, December 2006
